The Shanghai Baohua Office Complex is located in the Jingan District of Shanghai, close to Daning Greenland. The project consists of a 100-meter-high office building and six separate multi-storey office and commercial buildings.
The tower was designed with a simple fold line on its surface, which divides the regular building volume into two upper and lower shaped atrium spaces at the corner of the building. A closed atrium is located below the 16th floor of the building, and the space above the 17th floor is an outdoor green atrium with an external maintenance structure, which leads directly to the top of the building. The two atriums provide an interchange place for offices on all levels, and a wonderful shared space is fostered within the restrained body shape. The facade of the building draws an abstract romantic cloud-shaped pattern through the combination of glass and metal plates with different reflectivity, highlighting the modern atmosphere of the office tower.
The stand-alone small office building provides a comfortable office space for a corporate headquarters. The changeable shape provides for a flexible indoor space and a large outdoor terrace, which can enjoy the Daning Greenland Park to the south. The volume has also created a pleasant scale on the side of the road facing the city, and has formed a cordial dialogue with the city. The separate office and high-rise tower surround a sunken courtyard that is isolated from the hustle and bustle of the city and has a pleasant and quiet environment.
The entire project provides a subtle and iconic background for Daning Greenland Park at the city scale. Through the elaborate design, a comfortable and flexible environment for the headquarters office has been created, and an elegant building complex has been created around Daning Greenland.
